We left Lossiemouth this morning heading down the Moray Firth heading for Inverness. There was no wind so we had to motor all the way - some 35 miles. It was strange as we turned out down the Moray Firth as we had land on each side - something we had not experienced since leaving Gosport.
It was an uneventful journey. We passed a bank of seals - it was lovely to see them- seals of all sizes including baby seals.
We passed under the Kessock Bridge and then made our way to Clachnaharry Sea Lock to start our journey down the Calendonian Canal. We entered the lock and the had to wait for the rail bridge to swing open befire going into another lock and then into Muirtown Seaport Marina. It was magical!
We are now waiting at Inverness railway station for Paul's sister and husband to arrive as they are joining us fir the next leg.
Don't know how many blog entries I will be able to make as Internet through the canal may be patchy.
Wow you two, it doesn't seem possible that you have got so far so soon! You'll be back home before we are due to join you at this rate! Really enjoying all the pictures and following your story. Lots of love to you both,
