Day 19

We awoke in Blyth to some very sad news, one of our Gosport Cruising Club members had died. Ian was only 56 and had suffered a heart attack. Our thoughts go out to all of his family. It drives home the message how fragile life is. There was a very poignant song on the radio with lyrics "One day you'll leave this world behind, So live a life you will remember."

We left Blyth heading for Amble. The Northumberland coastline is very pretty. We arrived at Coquet Island just off the mouth to Amble. It is a RSPB bird sanctuary we saw lots of puffins and other nesting birds.

Amble is a very pretty town we had a lovely time exploring and walking to the end of the pier head to see Coquet Island.

Looking back to Warkworth Castle in the mist.
