Day 99

Saturday 6th August 2016 Day 99

Mia and Devon would be leaving us tomorrow and we needed to get somewhere where they could catch a train home and we wanted to explore. We discovered that at Paignton there was going to be a Harbour Fun Day. We could get the bus, a boat ride or take Altair and anchor in the bay. We decided on the latter. Anchored in the bay and dingy ashore. What a lovely low key event it was. Lots of stalls, Fishermen singing, crab dressing rope tying lessons - fantastic!

Back to Altair and onto Brixham. We moored up on the harbour pontoon and explored Brixham. Lovely sea side town and ended up at Rockfish for chips for lunch.

Back to Altair and sail onwards. We anchored in Odiscombe Bay.

Our final destination of the day was going to be Teignmouth but we needed to wait for the tide. Some of the crew read, some napped whilst others sat on anchor watch sewing.
We left at about 5:30 pm Teignmouth bound, navigated into a tricky entrance and then moored up on the harbour pontoon. The tide runs very fast in and out of Teignmouth and the wind was blowing sideways onto us. Some of the crew had a bumpy night!
