Day 106

Saturday 13th August 2016

Market day in Lymington on a Saturday. We had a lovely time wondering up and down. It is such a good market we do love it.

Our sailing Club - Gosport Cruising Club were having a rally at the Folly Inn on the river Medina up from Cowes tonight and we were able to join in.

We left Lymington at about lunchtime and sailed down the Solent. We could not believe how many boats were out enjoying the lovely weather! I know it was the end of Cowes Week (where are lots of sailing races and on alternate years they have the Fastnet Race where they race to the Fastnet Rock off Ireland) but we had not seen so many boats on our trip!

We passed through Cowes which was still very busy form Cowes week and they had a big wheel up there

and were soon at the Folly joining in with our club rally.

It was very special as we had our good friends Pete, Jen, Ken and Sue from Sophia and Vol au Vent. Very touching as they had seen us off on the start of our trip in Chichester harbour all those weeks ago.

We celebrated our return with champagne and dear friends

The club have this wonderful get together in the evening called a Pontoon Party. Everyone brings a dish of food, placed on tables on the pontoon and everyone digs in. Such a lovely idea. So good to continue our celebration with friends.

Another lovely sunset that night.
