It seemed strange to think that it was in fact the mainland as it looked just like another island. WE looked up the sound of Mull and saw Ardnamurchan point – the most west point on mainland uk! It didn’t seem very far away. The walk was wonderful, following a path in the hillside with a steep drop to the sea on one side. Jazz loved her walk.
WE then had lunch and decided to move on. Loch Sunart had been recommended to us and as it was just across the water we decided to explore. I hadn’t realised but Loch Sunart is 17 miles long! We had a sail and then it was searching for an anchorage. We have anchored near Garbh Eilean. A truly delightful anchorage. It is so quiet, can’t hear a thing well only the birds! We saw seals on the rocks as we came up.
We went ashore and found this delightful Forestry Commission nature area. It has a car park, picnic benches and walks. We followed one of the signs and found a nature hide looking out to the lake. Well done to then for making such a lovely area. Jazz loved her walk and as we went back to the dingy, Jazz showed no interest in getting back in it and just paddled in the water and then decided to swin back to the boat!
