Day 75

Wednesday 13th July 2016

It was another early start today - the wind remained North Westerly just what we wanted to move South. We left Holyhead at 5am - another lovely morning sky

Just around that harbour wall the sea was very confused - you ask why? It is all to do with the wind, tide and waves being reflected back off the harbour wall. In other words the sea was rough and bumpy! "It won't last long" I was reassured - well............ It did settle down a little just passed the lighthouse

but then it was " remains of wind against tide - should calm down soon" There was quite a swell out there and it was bumpy! Having said that we did have a fast sail. We managed to cover 7 plus knots over the ground for 4 hours on the trot! (we usually hope to cover 5 -6 knots). It wasn't until we reached Bardsey Sound that the sea calmed down - we were now in the shelter of the land and a good sail into Pwllehli.
They have this lovely fish sculpture in the town centre - one on one side of the road and one on the other!

And a fantastic sunset tonight
